MagnaTex Radio Frequency Textile Drying
Pioneers in RF Drying for the Textile Industry
For over 50 years, Strayfield has led the world in Radio Frequency drying technology, delivering advanced textile drying solutions trusted across five continents. With over 4000 installations worldwide and machines operating reliably for more than 35 years, MagnaTex represents the next generation of efficient, uniform, and gentle textile drying.
Designed specifically for yarns, fibres, hanks, tops, and textile blends, MagnaTex RF dryers combine advanced engineering, unmatched reliability, and superior product quality to help textile manufacturers improve throughput while reducing energy consumption and operational costs.
What is Radio Frequency Textile Drying?
Radio Frequency (RF) drying removes moisture from textile products by heating water molecules internally using electromagnetic energy. Unlike conventional drying systems that rely on surface heat transfer, RF energy penetrates directly into the product, resulting in:
Faster and more uniform drying
Lower product temperatures
Reduced colour variation
Improved yarn quality
Higher production efficiency
By drying from within, MagnaTex prevents overheating, shrinkage, yellowing, and surface damage commonly associated with conventional thermal drying systems.
Why MagnaTex?
Uniform Drying. Superior Quality.
MagnaTex uses Strayfield’s proprietary low-density flat plate electrode technology to generate a highly uniform RF field across the entire product width. This eliminates hotspots and uneven temperature zones caused by conventional rod electrode systems.
Better colour retention
Improved moisture uniformity
Reduced yarn damage
Consistent production quality
Strayfield RF drying maintains moisture uniformity within ±1%, ensuring defect-free production and improving downstream process consistency.
Up to 40% Faster Than Conventional Drying
Traditional drying becomes increasingly inefficient at lower moisture levels. MagnaTex RF systems maintain drying efficiency throughout the process, significantly reducing drying times and increasing throughput.
Benefits include:
- Up to 40% higher productivity
- Faster batch turnaround
- Reduced drying line length
- Improved production planning
Up to 33% More Energy Efficient
Unlike conventional RF dryers that waste excess power through variable capacitance systems, MagnaTex uses Strayfield’s proprietary Moving Electrode technology to control power directly at the load.
This enables:
- Minimal power wastage
- Lower installed power requirements
- Higher process efficiency
- Reduced operating costs
Engineered for the Modern Textile Plant

Moving Electrode Technology
Automated moving electrodes continuously adjust to product height and moisture levels, ensuring optimal power utilisation and perfect drying performance without manual intervention.

Flat Plate Electrode Design
Low-density flat plate electrodes distribute RF energy uniformly across the product, eliminating intermittent hotspots and preventing product damage.

Dual Extraction System
Twin extraction fans ensure even moisture removal, reducing cycle times and preventing damp pockets within the product load.

Fully Welded Structure
The fully welded aluminium structure improves conductivity, enhances safety, minimises RF leakage, and ensures long-term structural durability.

Live Dashboard C Remote Diagnostics
Touch controls and live internet connectivity allow live remote monitoring, instant troubleshooting and trend analysis.

Proven Reliability
Installations last 35+ years, with thousands operating globally and new systems continually being added across markets worldwide.

Flexible Textile Processing
A single machine processes all textile formats and blends, quickly adapting to batch and product changes.

Superior Consumable Life
Durable consumables cut costs and maintenance, boosting output and total machine value.
